In 2003, Aurie Pennick made history as the first woman appointed to executive director of Field Foundation of Illinois where she served for 12 years before retiring in 2016. Before the Field Foundation of Illinois , Aurie headed the Chicago Abused Women Coalition, Connections of Abused Women and Their Children, which opened Chicago’s first battered women’s shelter, and Citizens Alert, a criminal justice awareness organization.
