Ruth W. Massinga made history in 1989 when she was appointed the first CEO of the Casey Family Programs, the nation's largest operating foundation, focused on safely reducing the need for foster care in the United States. As CEO of Casey, she was charged with implementing the new strategic plan and leading Casey into the future. During her 16-year tenure at Casey, she embodied and led with anti-racism principles, good stewardship, quality relationships, and innovation. Massinga also made history as the founding Board Chair of the Marguerite Casey Foundation.
